Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water Review

A few months ago, I knew I was running low on my Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner so I decided to try something new and after some research, I decided to go for something similar that can be used more as a cleansing water than just a toner, and that's why got this Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water.

Product Information
A dewy, easily washable cleansing water. It contains Jeju organic green tea moisturising and antioxidant ingredients, and organic witch hazel water which thoroughly removes sunscreen, BB Cream and light point make-up.

80%  natural origin ingredient. Enriched with green tea and green complex from Jeju Island.
Green tea helps revive dry, stressed skin by supplying abundant moisture.

Net Weight: 300ML / 12M

How to use
- Place two cotton pads on top of the pump
- Press the pump down once or twice whilst holding onto the cotton pads
- Swipe the cotton pads across your face

What I think...
As the product is described, this cleansing water does have a dewy finish but the dewy look fades quickly. This is a good point for me, because I have oily skin and I don't want my face feeling sticky or looking shiny. Make sure to press the pump down carefully because the product can squirt in all directions, and as the water is a little sticky it may get onto other items around it.

The cleanser removes dirt from the face very well and has not broke me out. As for removing make-up, I usually remove make-up using a cleansing oil first and afterwards I would use a cleansing water to make sure everything has been removed. In the product description it does say it is a light make-up remover, so I guess it may not be powerful enough to remove my make-up. Otherwise, I would end up using so much of the bottle for just one attempt at removing make-up. Nevertheless, I do like to use cleansing water in the morning to make sure my face is clean from dirt before I apply moisturiser and make-up.

There is a slight scent to the cleansing water, which you smell as soon as you start dispensing. It smells very similar to Simple's cleansing wipes. I didn't like the scent when I first started using it, but I'm not bothered by the scent now, because the smell does not last for long. I'm not too sure on how to explain the scent, apart from the fact that it does smell refreshing, but it does not smell like green tea to me even though it is a green tea cleansing water.

In terms of packaging, I do think positively of, like most of Innisfree products. I think Innisfree's packaging, in general, appeals to everyone. It's not as pretty nor cute as Etude House and does not look extremely fancy as Skin Food, Laneige and so on, but Innisfree products look mature and trustworthy, which is what I love about Innisfree packaging. I guess it also has to do with the fact that Innisfree market themselves as a organic, natural and environment friendly brand.

From the photo (above), you can see that this product comes with a pump. It makes it so much easier and faster to use. Its similar to the pump on Etude House's Wonder Pore Freshner, thus I was also glad to find another product with the same feature. There is no need to hold up the bottle and pour the water onto a cotton bud, instead I just place the cotton on top and press down. Simple!

Another great thing is that Innisfree has English on all their packaging, which includes the description, directions and ingredients. This bottle does say 80% of natural origin ingredients but I've actually discovered just as I was writing this review up that there is a 85% natural origin ingredients bottle!? I guess I have got the old one and the new is the upgraded and improved 85% natural origin ingredients.

The bottle does come in a 300ML and I have been using this for a few months already, and I am still not done with it yet, so I do think that's a appropriate length of time to go through such a large bottle. I would say I'm about 70-75% through this current bottle.

Pros
  • Removes make-up and dirty well
  • 80/85% natural origin ingredients
  • Pump - easy and quick to dispense
  • Nice packaging
  • Good shape
Cons
  • Sticky feeling
  • Price

Overall, I think its a great product and I would like to purchase again. However, like usual I do like to compare the features of similar products as well as taking the price into consideration. As I mentioned at the beginning of my post, I decided to try this product out for a change, after having run out of my Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner, and if I compare the amount of product I get in both bottles and the price, the cheaper option is the Etude House Wonder Pore Freshner. Not only is it cheaper, but it is also comes in a huge 500ML bottle. Its great for someone like who does not wish to be always thinking about buying an extra or the next bottle so soon. Nevertheless, I would say that the Innisfree Green Tea Pure Cleansing Water is much better as cleansing, as it is a cleanser afterall and not a freshner/toner, and the price is still affordable especially for a product and brand that contains such a high percentage of natural ingredients. The only thing is that I am a little tight on money for the time being and so would not wish to splurge as much as possible. All in all, this product does not have many drawbacks at all and I have enjoyed using the product, and I do recommend others to try it out.

My Rating: 4.5/5

  2. Can we use facial foam after using this? As the label says to use only water to wash if our skin feels dry.
